Engelmann Spruce, most well known for its excellent tone quality, is an amazingly strong, light and flexible wood and has exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio. It also has beautiful uniform colour, usually a cream to almost white.
AA grade is a high quality top with minimal visible defects.
Log #201 was cut in 2006, estimated standing dead 8 years before that and has been stored indoors since. This well aged top is ready to be worked. See photos for reference of the actual top.
