Engelmann Spruce, most well known for its excellent tone quality, is an amazingly strong, light and flexible wood and has exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio. It also has beautiful uniform colour, usually a cream to almost white.
AAA grade is a near perfect top, narrow even grain, and cross grain is very stiff.
154-P was cut in 2001 and has been stored indoors since. This well aged top is ready to be worked. Please not the small knot on the outer edge. It extends only 30mm inwards and 80mm from the bottom. This is completely out of the patternSee photos for reference.
