Engelmann Spruce, most well known for its excellent tone quality, is an amazingly strong, light and flexible wood and has exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio. It can also showcase beautiful colour and characteristics that could give your violin or viola a unique look and feel.
This tree was split 2024 beautifully straight and clean from a standing dead log. It has roughly 10 years of aging into it already and is about .36 SG, light weight and warm tone. Bright orange colours with incredibly silky figuring.
