Western Red Cedar is a light weight alternative to our Englemann Spruce and very stiff. It is preferred by some instrument makers for its stability and light weight. Western Cedar has a wide range of wood colours with the most desirable being chocolate. Grain is straight with a coarse texture and moderate natural lustre.
